Polar FT7F Nice and simple
This is my second rate monitor. The first one requires me to look in the book ofetn because it's just not that obvious as to what the controls do. This was a snap setting up and it does all the basic functions that I needed. Display is very easy to see too, which is important on a bike. Very pleased with it and that means I'll use it!!!
Polar FT7F Great Product
Nothing more to really say about it. Functions just like it's described to. Seems to be accurate to me, though I guess I don't really have any way to test it's accuracy. Large display numbers are nice. Also the screen that shows you time elapsed as well as time of day during your work out is great. All in all, fantastic value for the money.
Polar FT7F very pleased
I'm very pleased with this heart rate monitor. I wanted a monitor for my Zumba work outs without a million bells and whistles, and this is perfect! The Polar FT7F monitors your rate, how many calories are burnt during your workout and the heart rate average/peak for your session. There is even a meter that measures your heart rate in comparison to your "ideal" rate, so you can increase the intensity of your work out or tone it down if you're getting too crazy. The chest strap is comfortable and I don't even notice it during my work out. The transmitter is removable so the strap can be washed after each work out (which is a very nice feature, I must say). I don't really have any issues with the monitor so far, it's serving me well!
Polar FT7F Pretty standard for polar
I have had my new Polar FT7F for about a week now and I am happy with my purchase. This is my 3rd Polar HRM and they have all been very good quality. The first 2 I purchased used, and wore them 24/7. The first I ruined in the ocean (water resistant, not salt-water proof. Oops) The second simply went dead after a year (remember that I purchased it used. This time I bought brand new. My opinion is that the FT7F is very similar in functions to my old F6. I really only use the exercise time, the calories burned, and the heart rate features so I don't want anything too high tech. I don't use the alarm features and I wouldn't use a lap timer or stop watch feature even if it had one. I have to agree with a previous poster who would have liked to have seen the heart rate and the exercise duration available on one screen, like on my F6, but overall that's not a tragedy. Both the watch and the chest strap are comfortable. The watch seems to sit a little high on my wrist, but I haven't been hitting it on things (I do wear the watch 24/7 and not just when I'm working out.) I love that the batteries are easily replaceable. Overall I think it is a great purchase for the price I paid and it should last me for years to come. In the end, I would recommend the FT7F to a friend and I do not regret the purchase at all.
Polar FT7F Heart Rate Monitor Best balance of features, price, and quality.
After starting P90X my girlfriend and I were searching for a quality heart rate monitor. After researching and asking fitness gurus both on the Beachbody.com and other various fitness sites we found the Polar FT7 came up quite a bit. We decided to go for it and have been tremendously happy with our choice. The Polar FT7 offers a quality chest strap that feels comfortable and is made out of a durable quality material and is easily adjustable. The accuracy of the monitor is incredible as well, taking only 5 seconds to begin tracking and updates every 2 seconds throughout your entire workout. I haven't had it lose signal once nor does it intercept my girlfriend's HR who exercises right next to me. The calorie counter is extremely accurate and the Polar FT7 also keeps track if your last 100 workouts not only in regards to calories but also max HR and average HR. It also keeps track of how long you are in high or low intensity. In regards to low intensity the Polar FT7 refers to this as the 'Fat Burning' zone which is my only complaint. Many newcomers to fitness may assume they burn more fat this way but they are actually better off in the high intensity zone or 'fitness' zone as the FT7 calls it. Aside from that it's one of the absolute best HRM's I've ever seen and definitely recommend it.
Polar FT7F Heart Rate Monitor Love everything about it
Polars new model !!! Love everything about it! Design, style, size, accuracy, features. Stylish enough to wear out and about. But I won't because I don't want to scratch it or have excess wear. Not that I don't think it won't take a licking. It has all the features I wanted, PERIOD. I was not interested in GPS or speed. Right on accurate. Checked with other pieces of equipment that I have, including a digital blood pressure monitor. Did not have interference from others in gym. Easy to setup once and leave it !!!!! BUT---like someone else said. The info with the watch is limited. That's why on page 3 its says "for full user manual download and print at [...]". I did, and its great. There is also a video tutorial available on the same site. I love that "i'm allowed" to change my own batteries on this one and not have to "send it out" . I changed my own batteries on the older ones anyways--I never cared about the so called waterproofness as I didn't swim or get near water-besides you can reseal it yourself with light silicone if seal gets damages.
Someone else complained about how cheap it was or the buttons sucked and hurt their fingers. I'm a smaller guy. 5' 9" 135 lbs. I do not have a laborious job or calluses. And I had no issues with the buttons. Besides, I set it and forget it pretty much. I am not playing video games on it. It feels like a solid watch, not cheaply made. I love this new models strap !!! Way comfortable. Watch is comfortable as well. But I have a holder on my bikes handlebars to hold it so I can see it without lifting my arm up. And I do that on a treadmill too. Oh and the treadmill I use picks up the transmitter signal as well.
I was real close to getting the one on Amazon that a company sells for $67. Like $75 shipped. BUT. Sports Authority which is literally 4 blocks from me had theirs on sale from $109 down to $99 AND. I found a coupon online for $25 off a purchase of $75 or more. [...]. Is where I got mine---thanks to my thrifty wifey. So I ended up getting it for the online price shipped, at the store, in my hands, that day. Nice!
Again. Love the watch. Love the features. And love the price I got it at. This is by far my favorite HRM watch I've yet to use.
Only thing I could complain about if I had to was the alarm volume is a little low. But I really could care less.
Polar FT7M Black/Silver
Polar FT7F Heart Rate Monitor Good Buy.
I bought this to help me burn off the spare tire living in my midsection. Watch arrived very quickly via Prime shipping.
Pros:
- It was smaller than I expected, and that's a good thing, in my opinion.
- It's very light; you barely feel it on your wrist.
- Good build quality.
- I like the data tracking feature, and the HRM features matched the HRM data that my exercise bike collects.
- I like that you can view various stats while working out: heart rate (inst. and avg.), time worked out, calories burned, fat burning vs fitness training, etc.
- The chest strap is a little tight for guys of my size, but it stayed in place and is machine washable. It appears to be well built.
- Very easy setup; US and metric units are available.
Cons:
- I bought the red/black model with the white on black screen. It is difficult to read in low light, and the backlight doesn't really help too much.
- I would've appreciated a separate stopwatch feature to help this watch be a better stand-alone watch.
- It would be nice if they included the power link transfer equipment in the box.
Overall, this is a good watch and a good heart rate monitor for somebody like me who is wanting to burn some pounds. I am impressed with Polar's build quality and would gladly buy another of their products.
Polar FT7F Heart Rate Monitor Reviews AWESOME!
I bought this primarily to replace a previous Polar FT7F Heart Rate Monitor. I'm impressed. First, you can actually change the batteries. More importantly, the calorie counter is a great feature! Overall, it's easy to set-up and use. This is a fantastic HRM. I would recommend it to everyone. One note of caution: I purchased two of these for my wife and I. My wife's HRM is grey and mine is black and red. The screen on the grey band HRM is black numbering on a light grey background and is far more readable than the grey on black of the other.
