Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor LOVE IT.

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor LOVE IT.
I recently got a Polar FT7 HRM. Love it! Easy to use, tracks heartbeats as "beats per minute" or "percentage of maximum heart rate." Also tracks calories, and tells you whether you are in "fat burning zone" or "fitness zone." Stores up to 90 workouts, so if you want to go back and track some aspects of your workouts, it's easy to get to. If you're wanting to work out for a set period of time for cardio (or fat burning for that matter), it has a feature called "Zone Lock" which will beep if you go above or below that heart rate zone. It has a pause feature so if you're working out and want to take a break for whatever reason, you can pause it, restart it when you're ready, and when you're done, it'll tell you the total duration of time exercising, average heart rate, calories burned, and fat burning vs. fitness. It also has a back light for nighttime use, and if you touch the watch to the transmitter, it'll cycle through heart rate, clock time, and calories burned so far so you can see where you're at in your workout. (It has a strap you wear with a transmitter which is very comfortable.) Highly recommend it! (I have the women's red/silver.)

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor Works with my Schwinn Exercise Bike.

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor Works with my Schwinn Exercise Bike.
I bought a Schwinn exercise bike this summer and was using my very old CatEye heart rate monitor with it. I was concerned that the FT7 wouldn't work with the console on the Schwinn, but it does, so I'm very happy about that.

That old HRM worked, but it required gel to get a reading and sometimes it would drop out. The FT7 gives very similar heart rates, but it has the advantage of not requiring gel. Just wet the strap. So far, I haven't seen any anomalies. The FT7 is also more comfortable to wear. The watch, which I didn't think I would use, has some nice features. For example, it is very easy to see old workouts.

Polar FT7 Great piece of equipment!
This monitor is great and really helps me to get the most out of my workouts! The equipment at my gym also pick up the heart rate from the monitor I am wearing!

Polar FT7 Watch Good Heart Rate Monitor.

Polar FT7 Watch Good Heart Rate Monitor.
I got the Polar FT7 black/silver and pleased so far. My previous was the strapless Bow Flex model like the one used on p90x.

The heart rate bpm readings where consistent with my previous monitor and gym machines. However, I thought there was something wrong with the calorie counter feature.

The calorie counter was displaying high readings for my workouts. My 25 minute 5.5 mph run on a treadmill gave me a read of 410 cals burned on the FT7. The treadmill says it was at 203 and the online calorie calculators said I should be around 200-250 based on my BMI.

I called Polar tech support (Hold time was about 5 minutes, outsourced call center) The rep said that it is normal to get a higher readings because the machines/online calculators where based on an average. The polar heart rate monitors are obviously personalized with the transmitter connected to your chest. The rep went on to mention that once I get stronger and more fit, my calorie reading will display a more "average" reading.

Now I feel that I'm logging my exercises more accurately, but I'm still going to compare my readings with other sources. Hope this helps.

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor The BEST I have owned yet!!!

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor The BEST I have owned yet!!!
Simplicity, accuracy, durability and comfort. . .need I say more? I only wish it came in pale pink or cobalt blue or white or black. . .but ah well! The red is pretty. :)

I use this jewel every day at the gym and anywhere else I want to keep track of my heart rate or calories burned. For over a year now, it is holding up beautifully and going strong. I haven't even had to change any batteries yet.

Among everything else, it actually has an alarm feature to wake you up in the morning. . .although my one TINY complaint would be that the sound isn't loud enough. But I certainly don't need it for that purpose, so it's hardly even worth mentioning.

The transmitter strap is soft and super-comfy to wear. It is the easiest little thing to put on/take off. It goes on under your shirt (for ladies. . .right underneath your bra strap), and nobody even knows it's on. The watch is incredibly easy to use and understand. It has all of the features that I need and nothing that I don't need.

Be sure to lightly dampen the 2 little electrodes on the transmitter strap before putting it on to get proper contact. And always un-snap the little transmitter from the strap after you finish using it for the day. Then rinse/air dry the strap until the next time. Just follow the simple (extremely basic) instructions to get used to it for the first day or so. I know you will LOVE yours as much as I LOVE mine!

Polar FT7 Watch Works Great.

Polar FT7 Watch Works Great.
This is the right HRM for relatively low cost. It has all of the key functionalities that i need. I use it everytime i go to the gym so i can monitor how hard i work out. The chest strap was great too -- i can barely feel it on my chest. If i have to complain on something, i would say it's design -- it's a little bulkier than i expected. Overall, i would still recommend it!

Polar FT7 Reliable and accurate HRM.

Polar FT7 Reliable and accurate HRM.
I recently upgraded to this Polar watch. I had the F4 model before. I found this watch to be much more accurate and easy to read. My eye sight is getting worse these days and who wants to carry around reading glasses while you are working out. I can easily see how many calories I have burned during my workout and you have to switch views to see your heart rate. But I typically work out on machines that pick up my heart rate from my polar strap, which is great!! BTW: this watch came with a different strap and it is much more comfortable and hardly notice it's there.

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor Exactly what I wanted

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor Exactly what I wanted.
I've been using a Polar hrm that came with a treadmill bought in the 80s and have been looking to upgrade for a long time. I did a lot of research in brand and model options and am extremely happy with this choice. It's easy to use, seems to be accurate, and fits nicely. I would highly recommend this hrm.

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor Investment that will CHANGE the way you work out

Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor Investment that will CHANGE the way you work out
When I'm working out, I think my most effective exercise style has been interval training. Routine in a gym workout is ideal, but I can only do a workout for x amount of time before I'm bored of it.
The ultimate goal I have is keeping my heart rate up, so my first thought was to invest in a heart rate monitor. After looking at some reviews, I chose the polar FT7.

It's amazing.

It's changed the motivation I have to work out and keep up my heart rate. Not only does this watch monitor your heart rate, it records it daily! (when you wear the monitor on your chest, of course). And WEEKLY REVIEWS of your time, maximum/minimum heart rate, calories, and how much of your workout was fitness vs. fatburn (which you can tabulate on your own if you calculate the calories you burn per minute, and the rate of calories burned at a given period of time but this watch DOES THE WORK FOR YOU!)
It's inspiring to see how much fitness I've done, and what ways work best for ME.

I work the monitor when I was just sitting around, not working out, and burned 544 calories in about 6 hours vs. the 842 calories I burned in 2.5 hours running and working out, and it was awakening. Now, when I'm sitting around, I think about the work I could be doing.

When I'm at the gym, I'll run just that much longer to reach the 500 calories burned mark.

Its not about burning calories, but having this monitor makes me more conscious of the work I'm doing, and gives me that push I need to do more.

Being more conscious of my heart rate, and the effects thereafter, have changed my work out.
This is a great product; I recommend it to anyone trying to figure out the most effective and comfortable way to maximize their workout.
